Our Memberships

Our Memberships

Care Bridge Specialists champion the human rights of people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. Our memberships with the following organisations reflect and support our commitment to building a bridge to better and give us access to some of the best mentors, brightest minds and revered professionals in the social care sector.

the British Institute of Learning Disabilities

Our membership with British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD) sees us part of a community of people who share a passion for improving quality of life for the people that they support.

A large part of the work that BILD does centres on developing the skills and culture necessary to understand people’s needs so our membership with them affords us not only the opportunity to help shape responses to government consultations and to know more about the evidence base that informs support for children and adults with a learning disability and autism but it demonstrates that we are on a journey of continuous learning and improvement and wholly committed to best practice.

Together we are ambitious about: Building a positive impact and bringing lasting change.

the National Autistic Society

Our membership with the National Autistic Society (NAS) sees us in the company of 22,000 likeminded people who are passionate about creating a society that works for autistic people. We attend their annual conferences, their webinars on best practice and our team are often delegates in their training and online workshops.

We know that it is crucially important with the work we do to continue to collaborate with autistic people with lived experience and we are incredibly grateful that our membership with the NAS offers us the opportunity to do this across such a broad range of people across the spectrum in order that we can continually develop and update our practices.

Together we are ambitious about: Transforming lives and changing attitudes

The Restraint Reduction Network

The Restraint Reduction Network brings committed organisations like ours together with government departments, professional bodies and leading academics and practitioners in the health and social care sector. They oversee the development of new training standards, develop self-assessment tools and host annual conferences to share research and best practice. Our membership and the Action Plan that we have submitted to them based on the ‘Six Core Strategies of Restraint Reduction’ reflects our commitment to:

  • Place the person at the centre of everything we do.
  • Understand people’s needs, history, future wishes and aspirations.
  • Create a least restrictive, positive culture.
  • Make all our Specialist Practitioners accountable for the use restrictive practices undertaken in the best interests of the person, ensuring that they are recorded and reported.
  • Promote independence, choice and well-being.
  • Maintain safe, effective and therapeutic relationships that rely on collaboration.
Together we are ambitious about: Reducing the reliance on restrictive practices and making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

Skills for Care

Skills for Care is the strategic workforce development and planning body for adult social care in England and a delivery partner for the Department of Health and Social Care. Our membership with them ensures that our training is best in class and is certified and delivered by training providers that are endorsed and compliant. This in turn helps to ensure that our Specialist Practitioners always have access to the support, skills and knowledge that they need and that Regulators and Commissioners expect.

Care Bridge Specialists are committed to ensuring that our Practitioners are the very best at what they do and in addition to the plethora of training opportunities our membership with Skills for Care gives us access to the leading source of workforce intelligence in the adult social care sector. The insights and data sets that this provides us with helps us to solve problems quickly, make decisions confidently and improve outcomes for the people that we are so privileged to support.

Together we are ambitious about: A shared vision for a fair and just society where people can access the advice, care and support they need to live life to the fullest.
