  • Service user health and care records: retained in accordance with NHS Records Management Code guidance, typically a minimum of 8 years after last contact for adults, or until the individual’s 25th birthday (or 26th if young person was 17 at end of treatment) for children and young people.
  • Employee and recruitment records: retained in accordance with statutory employment requirements.

All retention periods are subject to review where litigation, safeguarding investigation or regulatory oversight requires extended retention.

Data is securely deleted or destroyed when no longer required.
